“சட்டசபையில் நடந்த நிகழ்ச்சிகளைக் குறித்து தவறான தகவல்களைத் தந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். சில பத்திரிகைகள் தவறான செய்திகளை போட்டு இருக்கின்றன. நான் சட்டசபையில் இருந்து நேரில் பார்த்ததை உங்களிடம் கூறுகின்றேன்” என அவை ஆரம்பித்ததிலிருந்தே நடந்த சம்பவங்களை விவரித்து விட்டு, தொடர்ந்து பேசியதாவது :- “முதல்வர் பட்ஜெட்டை படித்தார். அந்த நேரத்தில் ஜெயலலிதாவின் கை முதல்வரின் கையிலிருந்த பட்ஜெட் மீது தாவியது. அப்போது அ.தி.மு.க. உறுப்பினர் புத்தகத்தை முதல்வரை நோக்கி வீச, அந்தப் புத்தகம் பட்டு முதல்வர் அணிந்திருந்த கண்ணாடி கீழே விழுந்து நொறுங்கியது.
பின்னர் அ.தி.மு.க.வினர் மைக்குகளைப் பிடுங்கி வீச, அமைச்சர் வீரபாண்டி ஆறுமுகம் அடிபட்டு இரத்தம் சொட்ட காணப்பட்டார். ஜெயலலிதா தனது ஆசனத்தில் அமர்ந்திருந்தார். அவரைச் சுற்றி அவரது எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்கள் பாதுகாப்பாக நின்றனர். 10 நிமிடம் என்ன நடந்தது என்றே தெரியவில்லை. பின் ஜெயலலிதாவை அவரது எம்.எல்.ஏ.க்கள் அழைத்துச் சென்றனர். ஆனால், ஜெயலலிதா வெளியே சென்று, “அமைச்சர் துரைமுருகன் சேலையைப் பிடித்து இழுத்தார்; மானபங்கப்படுத்தினார் – என்றெல்லாம் கூறுவது அப்பட்டமான பொய். அனுதாபத்தைப் பெற வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக இப்படிப்பட்ட கீழ்த்தரமான செயலில் ஈடுபடுவதா? நாங்கள் (கம்யூனிஸ்டு) பெண்கள் நலனில் அக்கறை கொண்டவர்கள். அதுபோன்ற சம்பவம் நடந்து இருந்தால் பார்த்துக்கொண்டு இருப்போமா? ஜெயலலிதா – தான் ஒரு நடிகை என்பதை நிரூபித்துவிட்டார். தி.மு.க.வைக் காப்பாற்ற வேண்டும் என்பதற்காக கூறவில்லை. உண்மையைச் சொல்கிறேன். அமைச்சர் துரைமுருகன் அவரது சேலையை இழுக்கவும் இல்லை; அவரை மானபங்கப்படுத்தவும் இல்லை.”
– இவ்வாறு மயிலாடுதுறையில் மார்ச் 29-ந் தேதி மார்க்சிஸ்ட் உறுப்பினர் பாப்பாஉமாநாத், ஜனநாயக மாதர் சங்கக் கூட்டத்திலேயே பேசினார்.
