தேசியமும் தெய்வீகமும் எனது இரு கண்கள் என்று வீர முழக்கம் இட்ட சுதந்திரப் போராட்ட வீரர் பசும்பொன் தேவர் திருமகனார் இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டம், பசும்பொன் என்கிற சிற்றூரில் மிகுந்த வசதி படைத்த ஜமீன் குடும்பத்தில், 1908-ஆம் ஆண்டு அக்டோபர் திங்கள் 30-ஆம் நாள் பிறந்தார். பள்ளிப்படிப்பினை மட்டுமே முடித்திருந்தாலும், அன்னிய நாட்டினால் அடிமைப்பட்டிருந்த அடித்தள மக்களின் அன்றாட வாழ்க்கையே போரட்டமாக இருந்ததைக் கண்ணுற்ற தேவர் பெருமகனார், அம்மக்களின் வாழ்வு மேம்பட தன்னையே அர்ப்பணித்தார்.
தேவர் பெருமகன்
ஆங்கிலேய அரசை எதிர்த்துப் போராட, சுதந்திரப் போராட்ட வீரர் நேதாஜி சுபாஷ் சந்திர போஸின் தலைமையில் உருவாக்கப்பட்ட இந்திய தேசிய ராணுவத்திற்கு தமிழகத்தில் இருந்து பெரும் படையினைத் திரட்டி அனுப்பிய பெருமை தேவர் பெருமகனார் அவர்களையேச் சாரும். 1920-ஆம் ஆண்டு அப்போதைய மெட்ராஸ் மாகாணத்தில் இராமநாதபுரம், திருநெல்வேலி ஆகிய பகுதிகளில் அமலில் இருந்த மிகவும் கொடுமையான குற்றப்பரம்பரை என்கிற சட்டத்திற்கு எதிராக முதன் முதலில் போராடி அச்சட்டத்தினை அகற்றியவர் தேவர் பெருமகனார் ஆவார்.
1939-ஆம் ஆண்டு ஜூன் 22, அகில இந்திய பார்வர்டு கட்சியை நிறுவி நேதாஜி சுபாஷ் சந்திர போஸூடன் இணைந்து செயல்படல், 1952-ஆம் ஆண்டு நடைபெற்ற பொதுத் தேர்தலில் பார்வர்டு பிளாக் கட்சி சார்பில் அருப்புக்கோட்டை பாராளுமன்ற தொகுதியிலும், முதுகுளத்தூர் சட்டமன்றத் தொகுதியிலும் போட்டியிட்டு, இரண்டிலும் வெற்றி என பல்வேறு உச்சங்களைத் தொட்டவர் தேவர் பெருமகனார். ‘வங்கத்தில் நேதாஜி; தமிழகத்தில் பசும்பொன் முத்துராமலிங்கத் தேவர்’ எனத் தலைவர் கலைஞரால் போற்றப்பட்டவர்.
நினைவிடத்தில் மரியாதை
இத்தகைய பல்வேறு சிறப்புகளை கொண்ட விடுதலை போராட்ட வீரர் பசும்பொன் முத்துராமலிங்கத் தேவர் அவர்களின் பிறந்தநாள் தேவர் ஜெயந்தி விழாவாக தமிழ்நாடு அரசால் ஆண்டுதோறும் அக்டோபர் 30-ஆம் நாள் அரசு விழாவாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இவ்விழாவில், தமிழ்நாட்டின் பல்வேறு பகுதிகளில் இருந்து திரளான பொதுமக்கள் மற்றும் முக்கிய பிரமுகர்கள் கலந்து கொண்டு இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டம், பசும்பொன்னில் அமைந்துள்ள அன்னாரது நினைவிடத்தில் மரியாதை செலுத்தி வருகின்றனர்.
நினைவிடத்தின் முன் ஒரு சிறிய இடத்தில், குறுகிய நேரத்தில் அதிக கூட்டம் கூடுவதால் பொதுமக்கள் நீண்ட நேரம் திறந்த வெளியில் காத்திருக்க வேண்டிய நிலை உள்ளது. வெயில் மற்றும் மழையில் இருந்து அவர்களைப் பாதுகாத்திடவும், கூட்ட நெரிசலை தடுப்பதற்கும் தமிழ்நாடு அரசால் ஒவ்வொரு ஆண்டும் விழாவின் போது நினைவிடத்தின் முன் தற்காலிக கொட்டகை / பந்தல் மற்றும் தடுப்பு அமைக்கப்பட்டு வருகிறது.
நீண்ட நாள் கோரிக்கை
தேவர் ஜெயந்தி விழாவின்போது, கூட்ட நெரிசலை தவிர்க்கும் பொருட்டும், வெயில் மற்றும் மழையிலிருந்து பாதுகாத்திட, ஒரு நிரந்தர மண்டபம் அமைத்து தர வலியுறுத்தி அரசுக்கு பொதுமக்கள் நீண்ட நாட்களாக கோரிக்கை அளித்து வருகின்றனர்.
பொதுமக்களின் நீண்ட நாள் கோரிக்கையினை ஏற்று, பசும்பொன் கிராமத்தில் முத்துராமலிங்கதேவர் நினைவிடத்தின் முகப்பில் பொதுமக்கள் பாதுகாப்பாக அஞ்சலி செலுத்தும் வகையில் 1 கோடியே 42 இலட்சத்து 80 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் மதிப்பீட்டில் ஒரு மண்டபமும், மிக முக்கிய பிரமுகர்கள் மரியாதை செலுத்தும் பாதையில் 12 இலட்சத்து 54 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் மதிப்பீட்டில் மற்றொரு மண்டபமும், ஆக மொத்தம் 1 கோடியே 55 இலட்சத்து 34 ஆயிரம் ரூபாய் மதிப்பீட்டில் இரண்டு மண்டபங்கள் தமிழ்நாடு அரசால் அமைத்திட முதலமைச்சர் மு.க. ஸ்டாலின் உத்தரவிட்டுள்ளார்.
