கடந்த 2017-ஆம் நீட் தேர்வு கட்டாயமாக்கப்பட்ட பிறகு தமிழ்நாட்டில் இதுவரை 35-க்கும் மேற்பட்ட மாணவர்கள் தற்கொலை செய்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றனர்.
தனியார் பயிற்சி மையங்களில் சேர்ந்து குறைந்தது இரண்டு ஆண்டுகளாவது பயிற்சி பெற்றால் தான் மருத்துவப் படிப்பில் சேர முடியும். அதற்காக குறைந்தது ரூ.20 லட்சம் முதல் ரூ.30 லட்சம் வரை செலவழிக்க வேண்டியிருக்கும். அதற்கான வாய்ப்புகளும், வசதிகளும் இல்லாதவர்கள் மருத்துவம் பயில்வதைப் பற்றி நினைத்துப் பார்க்கக் கூட முடியாது.

இதில், நீட் தேர்வில் தேர்ச்சி பெற்று முதல் 30 ஆயிரம் தரவரிசை வரை உள்ளவர்கள் அரசு மருத்துவக் கல்லூரிகளிலும், அடுத்து 36 ஆயிரம் பேர் அடுத்த ரேங்க் வரிசைப்படி தனியார் மருத்துவக் கல்லூரிகளிலும் இடம் பிடிப்பார்கள். நீட் தேர்வில் தேர்ச்சி பெற்ற மீதியுள்ள 6 இலட்சத்து 30 ஆயிரம் பேருக்கு இடம் கிடையாது. அவர்கள் செலவு செய்த பல லட்சம் ரூபாயும் வீண்தான்.
இந்தியா முழுவதுமுள்ள அரசு மருத்துவக் கல்லூரி இடங்களில் தமிழ்நாட்டில் மட்டும் 3,947 எம்.பி.பி.எஸ். மற்றும் 985 பி.டி.எஸ். இடங்கள் உள்ளன. அனைத்திந்திய தேர்வான நீட் வழியாகத் தேர்வு செய்யப்படும்போது, கிட்டத்தட்ட மாவட்டத்திற்கு ஒன்றாக உள்ள அரசு மருத்துவக் கல்லூரிகளில் இந்திக்காரர்களும், பிற மாநிலத்தவரும் எளிதில் இடம் பெற்று விடுவார்கள்.
தமிழ்நாட்டு மாணவர்கள், நீட் தேர்வில் பயிற்சி பெற்ற பலர் உட்பட புறக்கணிக்கப்படுவார்கள். உயர்கல்வியில் வெளி மாநிலத்தவர் ஆதிக்கத்திற்கு நீட் தேர்வு வழிவகுக்கிறது.
நீட் தேர்வு என்பது அநீதி என்பதால் தான், அத்தகைய நுழைவுத்தேர்வை ரத்து செய்ய வேண்டும் என தமிழக வாழ்வுரிமைக் கட்சி தொடர்ந்து வலியுறுத்தி வருகிறது.
நீட் தேர்வு சமூகநீதிக்கு எதிரானது என்பதால் தான், அதிலிருந்து தமிழ்நாட்டிற்கு விலக்கு பெறுவதற்காக, 2021 செப்டம்பர் 13 ஆம் தேதி சட்டப்பேரவையில் புதிய சட்டம் இயற்றப்பட்டது. அதை ஆளுனர் திருப்பி அனுப்பிவிட்ட நிலையில், 2022-ஆம் ஆண்டு பிப்ரவரி 8-ஆம் நாள் அதே சட்டம் மீண்டும் இயற்றி, மே மாதத் தொடக்கத்தில் ஒன்றிய அரசுக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டது.
நீட் விலக்கு சட்டம் பேரவையில் இயற்றப்பட்டு 20 மாதங்கள் நிறைவடைந்து விட்டன. அந்த சட்டம் ஒன்றிய அரசுக்கு அனுப்பப்பட்டு 17 மாதங்களாகி விட்டன. ஆனால், நீட் விலக்கு சட்டத்திற்கு இன்னும் ஒப்புதல் கிடைக்கவில்லை.
இந்நிலையில், முதுநிலை மருத்துவப் படிப்புகளுக்கு அதிக இடங்கள் காலியாக உள்ளதால், அவற்றை நிரப்புவதற்காக நீட் தகுதி மதிப்பெண்ணை பூஜ்ஜியமாக மருத்துவக் கலந்தாய்வுக் குழு அறிவித்துள்ளது.
இத்தகைய அறிவிப்பு வரவேற்கதக்கதாக இருந்தாலும், எதிர் வரும் நாடாளுமன்ற தேர்தலையொட்டிய நாடகமாக என்ற சந்தேகம் இயல்பாகவே எழுகிறது. ஏனெனில், ஆட்சியின் கடைசி தருணத்தில் நிறைவேற்றப்பட்ட மகளிர் இட ஒதுக்கீடு மசோதா, எதிர் வரும் நாடாளுமன்ற தேர்தலையொட்டி தான் என்பது வெட்ட வெளிச்சமாக தெரிகிறது.

எனவே, சமூக நீதியைக் காப்பதிலும், மருத்துவக் கல்வியின் தரத்தை உயர்த்துவதிலும் ஒன்றிய அரசுக்கு உண்மையாகவே அக்கறை இருந்தால், நீட் தகுதி மதிப்பெண்ணை பூஜ்ஜியமாக்குவதற்கு மாற்றாக, அத்தேர்வு முறையை ரத்து செய்ய வேண்டும்.
அதாவது, நீட் தகுதி மதிப்பெண்ணை பூஜ்ஜியம் என்பதற்கு பதிலாக, அத்தேர்வு முறையை அடியோடு ஒழிப்பதே சிறந்த தீர்வாகும் என்பது தமிழக வாழ்வுரிமைக் கட்சியின் கருத்தாகும். இதனை தான் தமிழக வாழ்வுரிமைக் கட்சி தொடர்ந்து வலியுறுத்தி வருகிறது.
