சமீப காலமாக, நாடு முழுவதும் கல்வி வளாகங்களில் மாணவர்கள் அனுபவித்து வரும் கொடுமைகள் நாளுக்கு நாள் அதிகரித்த வண்ணம் உள்ளன.
அக்கொடுமைகளின் தொடர்ச்சியாக, தூத்துக்குடி மாவட்டத்தை சேர்ந்த மாணவி சுகிர்தா, கன்னியாகுமரி மாவட்டம் குலசேகரத்தில் உள்ள மூகாம்பிகா மருத்துவக் கல்லூரியில் முதுகலை மயக்கவியல் இரண்டாம் ஆண்டு படித்து வந்த நிலையில், தற்கொலை செய்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார்.
தற்கொலைக்கு முன்னர் அவர் எழுதி வைத்திருந்த கடிதத்தில், பேராசிரியர் பாலியல் ரீதியாக தனக்கு தொந்தரவு கொடுத்ததாகவும், மயக்கவியல் பயிற்சி மருத்துவர்கள் தன்னை மனதளவில் துன்புறுத்தியதாகவும், தன் மரணத்திற்கு இவர்கள் மூவரும் காரணம் என்று குறிப்பிட்டுள்ளார்.
பின்னர், மாணவ, மாணவிகளின் போராட்டத்தைத் தொடர்ந்து, தமிழ்நாடு அரசு இந்தப் பிரச்சனையில் உடனடியாக தலையிட்டு, வழக்கை சிபிசிஐடி வசம் ஒப்படைத்துள்ளது.
பேராசிரியர் பரமசிவம் 14.10.2023 அன்று கைது செய்யப்பட்டு, நாகர்கோவில் கிளைச் சிறையில் அடைக்கப்பட்டிருக்கும் நிலையில், ஹரிஷ், ப்ரீத்தி ஆகியோர் தலைமறைவாக இருப்பதாக கூறப்படுகிறது.

கல்வி நிலையங்களில் நிலவும் பாதுகாப்பற்ற தன்மை நமது இளைய தலைமுறையினர் சந்திக்கும் பிரச்சனைகளில் முக்கியமானதாக இருக்கிறது. இத்தகைய சூழலை தடுத்து பாலின, சாதிய, வர்க்கப் பாகுபாடுகள் களையப்பட்ட சூழல் கல்வி வளாகங்களில் உறுதிசெய்யப்பட வேண்டும் என்று தமிழக வாழ்வுரிமைக் கட்சி கேட்டுக் கொள்கிறது.
அதே நேரத்தில், எதிர்காலத் தலைமுறையை உருவாக்கும் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டிருக்கும் ஆசிரியர் சமூகம் தங்களுக்குள் உலவும் கருப்பு ஆடுகளை அடையாளம் கண்டு அவர்களை தனிமைப்படுத்த வேண்டும். பெற்றோர்கள், பாலியல் துன்புறுத்தல் குறித்து தங்கள் பெண் குழந்தைகள் கூறுவதை காது கொடுத்து கேட்க வேண்டும்.
