]]>வேலூர் மாவட்டம் அணைக்கட்டு அருகிலுள்ள அத்திமரத்துக்கொல்லை மலைக்கிராமத்தில் பாம்பு கடித்த ஒன்றரை வயது குழந்தையை அணைக்கட்டு மருத்துவமனைக்கு கொண்டு செல்ல சாலைவசதி இல்லாததால் உடல் முழுவதும் நஞ்சு பரவி வழியிலேயே அக்குழந்தை இறந்து விட்டது; உடற்கூறாய்வுக்குப் பிறகு அவசர ஊர்தியில் எடுத்துச் செல்லப்பட்ட குழந்தையின் உடல், சாலை வசதி இல்லாததால் பாதியில் இறக்கப்பட்டு, 10 கி.மீ தொலைவுக்கு பெற்றோரே நடந்து சுமந்து சென்றுள்ளனர் என்ற செய்தியறிந்து மிகுந்த வேதனையடைந்தேன்.

மலைப்பகுதிகளின் கட்டமைப்பு வசதிகளை மேம்படுத்துவதற்காக மத்திய அரசால் கூடுதல் நிதியும், மானியமும் ஒதுக்கப்படும் நிலையில், அதைப் பயன்படுத்தி சாலை வசதி, குடிநீர் வசதி, மருத்துவ வசதி உள்ளிட்ட அடிப்படைக் கட்டமைப்பு வசதிகள் ஏற்படுத்தப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டும். சாலை வசதி இல்லாததால் இறந்தவர்களின் உடலை நடந்தே சுமந்து செல்லும் அவலம் தமிழகத்தின் எந்த பகுதியிலும் இனி நடக்கக்கூடாது.
அதிவிரைவுச் சாலைகளும், எட்டுவழிச் சாலைகளும் அதிக அளவில் அமைக்கப்பட்டு வரும் சூழலில், மலைக்கிராமங்களுக்கு சாலையே இல்லை என்பது வெட்கப்பட வேண்டிய வளர்ச்சி இடைவெளி ஆகும். அனைத்து மலைக் கிராமங்களுக்கும் அனைத்து பருவகாலங்களிலும் பயணிக்கக்கூடிய சாலைகளை அமைப்பதை ஒரு சிறப்புத் திட்டமாக அறிவித்து 6 மாதங்களுக்குள் செயல்படுத்தி முடிக்க தமிழக அரசு முன்வர வேண்டும்.
